Porcelain Necklace: Sea Turtle
This item is a handmade sea turtle that can be worn as a necklace or charm, a lovely pendant handcrafted from porcelain, a perfect gift or for an animal lover.

Keeping you close to the ocean wherever you go. This turtle charm has been inspired by nature and made with love in my home studio.
Real gold has been fired into the pendant to give it a sparkle of magic.

--------- Handcrafting ---------
Handcrafting these takes lots of patience, they need to be sculpted, dried, bisque fired, glazed and fired once more. It take about 2 weeks to create one little creature from start to finish.
Once I have created the tiny sculpture I let in dry before it goes into the kiln for a bisque firing. When it comes out it's time to glaze and I do this using tiny brushes, I hang them on a bead rack in my kiln and high fire them to over twelve hundred degrees °C. Finally they come out and my favourite part is painting on the details with 22 carat gold or platinum lustre. Lustre overglazes are made of actual gold and the end result adds a brilliance and depth like any other.
